The incident involved a crash between two cars

One woman has been taken to hospital after a crash saw a vehicle go up in flames on the side of the M60 this evening.

Emergency services were scrambled to the M60 clockwise entry slip road at J10 near the Trafford Centre after a vehicle fire at around 8:45 pm on Thursday . A number of police cars could be seen in attendance as firefighters worked to put out the flames. Fire crews said one woman had been left in the care of the North West Ambulance Service.The M60 clockwise entry slip road was blocked, with one lane closed on the M60 clockwise.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At around 8:45pm this evening, firefighters were called to reports of a crash on the M60 between junctions 10 and 11. “Three fire engines from Stretford, Eccles and Salford fire stations quickly arrived at the scene, which involved two cars with one car on fire. Crews worked to extinguish the fire and assessed one female casualty, who was then transferred to the care of the North West Ambulance Service. The occupant of the second vehicle had self-rescued before the arrival of the fire service.Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for comment.
