In alignment with Energy Efficiency Day , Motion Tronic urge the South African industrial sector to adopt energy-efficient automation solutions in order to reduce energy consumption and in turn, costs.
According to the International Energy Agency, automation is able to reduce energy costs by between 10 and 30 percent. Automation excels when used to reduce a factory’s energy consumption, which has a positive impact on more than just the energy bill. “By monitoring maintenance markers in real time, automation allows for early fault detection and therefore less stopping and starting of equipment, resulting in reduced equipment downtime. By reducing or fully removing the need for human input, fewer mistakes are likely to be made, resulting in less wastage, less energy consumed and improved productivity,” says Douglas.
