LA Metro has partnered with the City of Santa Monica to pay Santa Monica residents to leave their cars at home. The program could spread to the rest of the county.

The City of Santa Monica and LA Metro will pay the first 200 people who sign up for the"One Car Challenge" pilot program. Recipient will also get a Metro tap card loaded with $50 and up to 10 Metro Bike Share rides.The pilot is part of a larger Metro effort to promote alternatives to driving. Based on the results, they could expand the program to other parts of Los Angeles.The program comes after Gov.
