About 100 C-train riders had to get off the train as it sat inside a downtown tunnel Tuesday night following a stabbing incident on board one of the cars. Police were called to the scene at about 11 p.m. after someone reported a stabbing in one of the cars as it was travelling northbound, having left the Erlton-Stampede station, police said in a release.

A passenger activated the emergency stop, causing the train to come to a stop inside the tunnel between the Victoria Park-Stampede and City Hall stations. Northbound and southbound trains were stopped to ensure the safety of passengers while they exited the tunnel on foot.The victim sustained minor injuries.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or to contact Crime Stoppers.
