The 2:20 a.m. crash happened when a car ran a red light and collided with a truck at the intersection of Cedar Bridge and New Hampshire avenues, according to the Ocean County prosecutor’s office.
The car, which had four passengers, careened off the roadway and slammed into a metal traffic signal pole, breaking into two parts, the office said. The office said the driver and one passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, and a second passenger later died of her injuries at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.The wreck caused the truck to roll over, and it also split in two, the office said.
