A man has been charged with allegedly stealing and destroying cars that were used in a fatal shooting earlier this year.The arrest was made as part of an investigation into the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Marvin Oraiha in July.The 28-year-old man was arrested at 6 am on Thursday as police searched a home in Marsden Park.
Two burnt-out cars were found in Cave Close in Green Valley and Lewis Street in Bonnyrigg Heights following the shooting. Investigators will allege that the man was involved in stealing, coordinating and destroying the cars used during the shooting.He was charged with six offences, including two counts of accessory before the fact to destroy/damage property intended for criminal activity of group, two counts of knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime, intent to conceal and three counts of recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime over $5000.
Five other people have been charged in relation to the same shooting, and remain before Liverpool Courts. Task Force Magnus, established in July to target gun-related violence, has also released CCTV footage of a black Toyota Kluger driving past Oraiha's home before the shooting.
