Nanaimo RCMP are warning drivers to ensure vehicles are secure after a string of break-ins involving unlocked vehicles in the Stephenson Point area

Nanaimo RCMP are warning drivers to make sure their vehicles are secure after a string of break-ins involving unlocked vehicles in the Stephenson Point area overnight Monday.

Reserve Const. Gary O’Brien said other vehicles were likely also targeted. “Thieves are out rain or shine, checking door handles on vehicles. If they find one that is unlocked, they will enter it and take anything they can find.”• Ensure unattended vehicles are locked and nothing of value is visible.
