Tesla Raises Prices On Nearly Its Entire Range Of Vehicles

While Tesla's 3% price increase certainly doesn't sound large, the actual dollar amount is bigger than you might imagine. That's because a car like the Model S carries a. This price includes a destination charge of $1,200, but excludes any potential federal or state electric vehicle tax credits which might be available.

For comparison's sake, a Model S in range-topping Performance trim, and fitted with the optional Ludicrous Mode power upgrade , would sticker for approximately $105,950. Again, this price is sourced via Tesla's website and includes destination charge, but not any tax credits. In this case, the 3% price increase would come to roughly $3,170. That's not an insignificant amount of money, even for a vehicle carrying a six-figure price.

BMW increased prices in Canada by ~10% over the last 3 years. Many other luxury brands increased prices by 15%. That barely got noticed. Tesla raises prices by 3% and somehow it’s the major news of the day. As a shareholder I support this move.
