GLACE BAY, N.S. — Venice Burchell didn't know what to think of the yellow stuff on the bottom of her car on the driver's side when she first saw it.
An area of road in Glace Bay where newly painted traffic lines have smudged on the road as drivers went through presumably wet paint. CONTRIBUTED - ContributedBurchell wasn't the only driver who got wet paint from traffic painting being done last week. Blanchard said she tried to wash off the yellow paint and has gotten some off, but hasn't been able to get it all off because she was afraid of ruining her car's paint.
It appears the lines were smudged when multiple cars drove through the wet paint and many people voiced concerns over the state of the roads on social media. According to other people in the industry, the type of paint, weather conditions and equipment used could all result in paint not drying quickly and resulting in smudged lines or transfer onto vehicles.
