The Seward Highway was closed early Thursday at Moose Pass and heavy snow was making it impassable in places from Seward to Turnagain Pass, the Alaska Department of TransportationThe DOT urged people to travel only for emergencies. The highway was fully closed at Mile 27.5 near Moose Pass, they said.
The Richardson Highway was also closed at Mile 55 through Thompson Pass due to heavy snow mixed with rain, the department said.The Parks Highway was also described as having difficult driving conditions due to an ice glaze and packed snow from Meadow Lakes toward Talkeetna.Tess Williams is a reporter focusing on breaking news and public safety.
