The highway was impassable in places from Seward to Turnagain Pass early Thursday due to heavy snow and disabled vehicles, authorities said.

The Seward Highway was closed early Thursday at Moose Pass and heavy snow was making it impassable in places from Seward to Turnagain Pass, the Alaska Department of TransportationThe DOT urged people to travel only for emergencies. The highway was fully closed at Mile 27.5 near Moose Pass, they said.
