Amid growing scrutiny of self-driving cars, a Waymo robotaxi hit a bicycle in Portrero Hill

The bicyclist suffered only minor injuries and wasn’t taken to the hospital, according to the San Francisco Fire Department and Waymo spokeswoman Katherine Barna.

“When became fully visible, our vehicle applied heavy braking but was not able to avoid the collision,” she said.
