Joseph Burrier and his girlfriend were asleep at their home on Vernon Avenue in Garfield Heights Tuesday when they were woken up to the shots of gunshots. Burrier said it was a little before 2:30 in the morning. Burrier said the shooter hit both their cars and his home. His girlfriend’s tires are both flat, they were shot out. There’s also a strong smell of gasoline because one of the bullets went into the gas tank. He said the shooter caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Garfield Heights police detectives believe they’re looking for a dark-colored SUV. According to reports a newer gray SUV was spotted on city cameras turning onto Vernon Road from Turney Road and shut its light off moments before the shooting calls came in.
