KATSINA – Worried by security challenges in the state, the Katsina State government has on Tuesday donated ten Toyota hilux vehicles to front line and worst hit local government areas in the state in order to boost and curtail all forms of criminalities around the areas which share border with the dreaded Rugu forest, den of criminals and criminal activities.

The affected front line local government areas include Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Dutsinma, Kankara, Funtua, Bakori, Dandume, Sabuwa with high cases of insecurity ranging from kidnapping to armed banditry and sharing borders with Zamfara State.

According to him, “You are all living witnesses about the insecurity affecting these ten front line local government areas. “We have given the Caretaker committee Chairmen or their representatives for the various LGAs for onward distribution to the security agencies to checkmate insecurity. The Caretaker Committees Chairman, being the chief security officer of the local government, he has to be the custodian of the vehicle but the vehicle should be used by the security personnel in that particular local governments,” Zakka said.
