LAWRENCE, Ind. — Police in Lawrence are asking for help locating a person they said escaped from a hospital Thursday.
A spokesperson with the Lawrence Police Department said 27-year-old Curtis Lowder was being sought after he left Options Treatment Center at Lowder is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 145 pounds and was last seen wearing a hospital gown and socks. The gown Lowder had been wearing was found and police believe he may just be wearing underwear at this time.
The spokesperson said Lowder left the facility while being processed for admission. He is believed to be in danger and in need of immediate medical attention.Amber Alert vs. Silver Alert: What's the difference? Amber Alert or a Silver AlertAmber Alerts are for children under the age of 18 who are believed to have been abducted and in danger. Police also need to have information about a suspect and their car to issue an Amber Alert.
Silver Alerts are for missing and endangered adults or children. They are much more common for missing people. It was not until last year when the standards for Silver Alerts were expanded to include children.
