Sun, March 31st 2024 at 6:38 PMA 21-year-old woman is facing assault and theft charges after stealing cars while using an ax.

Officers responded to the 1100 block of South Highland Street, where the carjacking happened, to check on the victim. He was taken to a local hospital by Tacoma Fire Department with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Officers responded to that call at approximately 5:05 p.m. in the 3400 block of Ruston Way. Upon arrival, officers found an Uber driver that was stabbed and carjacked. Luckily, a community member had applied a tourniquet to the victim before officers arrived.
