After police tried to pull a car over for a moving violation on Sunday morning, the driver of the car continued driving east on 500 N in Provo, officials said. Police lost sight of the car, later finding it crashed near 130 E 500 N with no one inside. There was nearby damage to two cars and multiple street signs, police said.Officials reported that witnesses in the area saw the driver and a passenger flee from the crashed car.
While no public assistance is needed, police said the investigation is ongoing as they search for the suspects. Police said potential charges for the suspects include fleeing, criminal mischief, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a denied license. There may be other traffic related-violations as well, officials said.
