Dacia has launched a new warranty programme that offers up to seven years cover for cars even if they’re preowned and have already racked up thousands of miles. Launched today, Dacia Zen is eligible for any models serviced by official retailers that are both under six years old and have covered fewer than 75,000 miles. Cars must then be serviced every year for the cover to continue.
This brings a new competitive edge to the French brand, with its generous terms competing with the likes of Kia’s and MG’s seven-year, 100,000-miles terms. Better terms are offered by Peugeot , and Toyota/Lexus – like Dacia, these deals also require servicing at a main dealer. The move is a way of tempting owners, as well as second-hand owners, to use in-house servicing, therefore opening another aftersales revenue stream for a brand that is renowned for producing reliable cars.
