Tim Brien, Lead Designer, JPA Design London and Stu Olden, Senior Commercial Manager of Williams Advanced Engineering with concept airline seat.The prototype seat is just one element of an overall interior design aimed at maximizing the use of space on board an aircraft, reducing seat weight by 5%, lowering costs and improving passenger comfort, according to the companies.

Concept airline seat unveiled April 1, 2019 by U.K.-based companies Williams Advanced Engineering and JPA Design.using super light, strong, yet affordable and recycled materials, reducing component parts, according to the company.. The seat is created on a monocoque configuration created by JPA Design which uses carbon fiber composite moulding as the primary support structure, eliminating the need for the traditional metallic sub-frame.
