All flights at London Luton Airport have been suspended after a fire broke out in one of its car parks. Footage posted on social media showed flames and smoke tearing through cars parked at the airport terminal on Tuesday evening.

It comes as insurance payouts for those unlucky travellers who left their motors at the car park before jetting off on holiday have now run into over £10million, according to The Mirror. Back in October, it was believed that a Range Rover sparked the car park inferno. A man who was arrested by police after the blaze was later released without charge.

Footage posted on social media at the time showed fire tearing through cars parked at the airport terminal, with smoke billowing over the airport's runway. Liz and Gary Blackmore, of Loughborough, were coming back from a five-day holiday to Portugal last night and had parked their Mercedes-AMG CLA Shooting Brake on the top floor of Luton's new £20million parking structure.
