CBS 8 is Working For You to find out how neighbors can get help to prevent dangerous driving.

SAN DIEGO — People in southeast San Diego say speeding cars are causing safety issues in their neighborhood of Emerald Hills.

"Hit and runs. They'll hit and they will run," said Joanna Aguirre, who has lived in the neighborhood more than 40 years."The person came speeding up the street like 100 miles per hour and spun out hitting the neighbors car. Then this neighbor over here, her car got flipped," she said. She says her neighbor's car was flipped last week on Geneva Avenue. It's a hilly road running through their neighborhood.

"I have seen children almost hit because at the crest of this hill you can not see up. it's dangerous," said another longtime resident who asked to remain anonymous."We have been advocating for years. Twenty, thirty, forty years. We tried to get speed bumps up here but that was to no resolve," she said.Emerald Hills residents are hopeful stop signs or speed bumps can be installed.
