Bob Cavanagh employed Keegan at his Katherine mowing business four years ago, after the teenager’s father raised concerns he was about to drop out of school. “He said ‘Keegan was talking with me last night and I want to repay Bob’. So that to me speaks a lot of the character that he really is,” he said.Mr Cavanagh said he did not proceed with police charges after the incident in 2021.“We just spoke about what they had done, the impact it would have on my business,” he said.Keegan was pressed by Pete Stefanovic on Wednesday. But now Keegan and his father will meet Mr Cavanagh in Katherine next week, promising to pay for the buggy.
“I actually had somebody ring me from Katherine and let me know and I said ‘well good on him, that was my initial reaction, I said ‘good on him’,” he said.
