Only one of the three suspects has been arrested, but he told police that he and two co-workers traveled to the airport together to burglarize cars, and that he was sorry.

OAKLAND — A Brentwood man has been charged with burglarizing cars around the Oakland International Airport, crimes he reportedly confessed were committed with two of his co-workers who have not yet been arrested.

The 24-year-old Brentwood resident was charged with four counts of auto burglary, all stemming from an alleged crime spree on Jan. 12 at the airport. He has been released from jail while the case is pending. Police say they found video of the man and two others breaking into cars, and identified him through his New York license plates. When he was tracked down and arrested at a grocery store in Alameda, he reportedly told police that he met the other two suspects at his job at an Amazon warehouse in Livermore, authorities said.

In one of the four burglaries, the man told police that they recovered a gym bag, realized there was nothing of value inside and threw it out the window as they were driving away. He asked detectives to tell the victims he was sorry, police said.
