NATHANIEL FRAZIER For the Eagle It was a sad day around the Wallace baseball program after the Govs found out Tuesday morning they will not be making a trip to the Junior College World Series after not receiving one of the two at-large bids.
The Govs finished the season with a record of 44-8 and 30-2 in conference play along with a regular season conference championship. Unfortunately the Govs went 2-2 in the regional tournament and were unable to earn an automatic qualifier to advance. "There’s not a doubt in my mind if they had put us in that tournament we would have done some damage. I think we’re the best team in the country and there’s no doubt. I know this group.”
"It’s been amazing, an honor, and I’m forever thankful for everything this place has given me. I’m sad of course, but it’s really hard not to be happy about the time I spent here.”
