The man died after the collision involving two cars and two lorries on the M58 on Friday last week. Emergency services closed the motorway in both directions between junction 3 near Rainford and junction 4 for Skelmersdale at around 12.53pm following the tragic incident.
A tribute laid on the motorway bridge above the scene of the crash read: "To my Beanie, I hope you knew how much we loved you. I can't begin to describe how we are feeling. I just love you, you were our heart, love always your Bean, duds and Judge xxx" Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident to contact them. Sgt Matt Davidson, lead investigation officer with the serious collision investigation unit, said at the time: “First and foremost, my thoughts are with the driver’s family and loved ones at this distressing time.
