The last photo of former professional rugby star Rob Burrow shows him smiling alongside his family at a fundraiser just weeks before his death. Rob tragically passed away at the age of 41 after a battle with the degenerative neurological condition Motor Neurone Disease.
Rob was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019, just two years after he retired from his rugby league career. Following his diagnosis, he dedicated his time to helping raise awareness of the condition and funds for the MND Association, where he was a patron. Kevin took part in the event and was sweetly greeted by Rob at the finish line. This is where the last photo of Rob was taken as he smiled alongside his wife, Lindsey, who ran the half marathon, and his daughters Macy and Maya, as well as pal Kevin.
"The volunteers, people who have helped create this today, every single runner who has put all that hard work in and then those on the streets who have made it such a special day again."
