A woman has been accused of ramming parked cars — pushing one 50m backwards — down the road, in an “extremely dangerous” drunk-driving rampage on the Gold Coast. The 48-year-old woman allegedly registered a blood-alcohol reading four times over the legal limit after the incident at Southport on Saturday night. The woman was driving down Musgrave Ave about 7pm when she crashed into “several” parked cars, Acting Superintendent Mark Mooney alleged.
Mooney alleged that “She then rammed this vehicle approximately 50m backwards down Musgrave Avenue” and that “It’s extremely dangerous and, to be honest, we’re lucky no one’s been killed.” “Drink driving is crazy at the best of times. She’s clearly speeding at the same time, to have that sort of impact on a vehicle,” Mooney alleged. “People need to be more careful. In this day and age, you would think someone of her age would know better,” Mooney alleged.
