Russia's troops fighting in Ukraine lost more than 100 pieces of 'special equipment,' according to Kyiv, as Ukraine's military reports 'complicated' fighting in the country's eastern Donetsk region.Between May 28 and June 5, Russian forces lost 101 units of 'special equipment,' figures from Ukraine's military suggest.

Although this type of loss doesn't individually appear on Ukraine's daily-updated counts, it still needs to be counted, Marina Miron, a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of War Studies at King's College London, added back in January.In total, Russia has lost 2,223 pieces of 'special equipment' since February 2022, according to Ukraine's armed forces. Again, Newsweek has yet to verify this tally.
