Hoboken public safety spokeswoman Marci Rubin said the incidents occurred between midnight Saturday and 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Two tires that were slashed early Sunday, June 2, 2024, in Hoboken. Authorities say tires were slashed on at least 17 vehicles.The Hoboken Police Department is investigating a series of incidents early Sunday morning in which tires were slashed on multiple vehicles in the city — including some inside the parking garage across the street from the police headquarters.

City officials confirmed earlier in the week that most of the vandalism occurred in the southeastern part of the city. On Wednesday the police department put a number on those incidents that were reported in that section of the city — 16, including a municipal vehicle. A 17th tire-slashing was reported near the intersection of Third and Monroe streets, but it is not clear at this point if it was related to the others, Rubin said.
