Kia recalls over 460,000 Telluride SUVs due to potential fire from overheated seat motor

The Telluride is essentially Kia’s version of the Hyundai Palisade and is the largest vehicle Kia is manufacturing in the United States.

While Kia Philippines has not officially sold the 7-seater SUV through its dealers, a number of Telluride units made their way to the country through gray market importers. That being said, if you’re a Telluride owner in the Philippines, you might want to read this one out. Kia has issued a recall for the Telluride due to a potential fire risk from an overheated power front seat motor., the front power seat motor may overheat due to a stuck power seat slide knob, which can result in a fire while parked or driving.

The recall affects 462,869 Telluride SUVs that were made from 2020 to 2024. In the US, owners are being urged to park their vehicles outside and away from structures due to the fire risk until the recall repair is complete. Kia says dealers in the US will install a bracket for the power seat switch back covers and replace seat slide knobs at no cost to the owners.
