City Council News

The complex, which is operated by Opportunity Home San Antonio, has problems with unauthorized visitors, roaming dogs and is a dumping ground for stolen cars.

A Southeast Side apartment complex is the focus of the next phase of San Antonio’s effort to fight violent crime. Over a two-year period, police received close to 120 service calls about violent crimes at The Rosemont at Highland Park complex at 1303 Rigsby Ave.

Violent crime in S.A. ‘hot spots’ plunged 37% under new policing strategy To bring down crime, the city will install three additional streetlights outside the complex and clear out a nearby homeless encampment. In August, the City Council will be asked to approve spending $420,000 from the city’s community safety reserve fund, mostly for license plate readers and mobile cameras so the San Antonio Police Department can monitor who is coming and going at the complex.
