DRIVERS are struggling to figure out who has the right of way when presented with this motorway scenario.
But as each driver is in the other's blind spot, an accident could occur when moving into the middle lane.So which car has right of way - the orange or the red? The Highway Code states you need to make sure "the lane you will be joining is sufficiently clear ahead and behind". The DVSA also advised motorists should "always drive in the left-hand lane when the road ahead is clear" and only join a lane that's "sufficiently clear ahead and behind".
If it was in zim where right hand driven a familiar. Lets assume they are RHD both drvrs shud hv checked blind spots. But i recommend one wth orange car to apologise bcoz his margin of blind spot is smaller than one wth red car. standoff_is_certain coz liability qstn
Would never happen in the UK, as the orange car will always sit in the central lane, leaving a completely clear left lane for no reason, this creating traffic issues behind them!
