A huge crash involving multiple cars has occurred on the M1 Pacific Motorway southbound, with a large section of the road now closed to motorists.

Cars are being diverted onto the old Pacific Highway just before Berowra on Friday morning after a multi-vehicle crash forced emergency crews to close a large section of the M1 Pacific Motorway southbound. Cars are being diverted onto the old Pacific Highway just before Berowra however heavy traffic is already banking up around the area.According to Live Traffic NSW, the incident started just after 4am on Friday.

“Southbound traffic is being diverted at the Pacific Highway off-ramp for the Old Pacific Highway and can rejoin the M1 at the Windybanks Interchange,” the update said.One motorist said they managed to get past the accident using the diversion and traffic was almost at a standstill.“I got through abt 40 mins ago. Traffic barely crawling,” she wrote on Facebook.
