The plan by automakers to include rear-seat alert systems in nearly all new cars and trucks comes after 53 children died in hot cars last year, a record

In an effort to curb the rising number of child heatstroke deaths, an alliance of major car makers on Wednesday plans to announce an agreement to include rear-seat alert systems in nearly all new cars and trucks.

More importantly, dogs

Isn't the carbon emissions going to kill these kids anyway?

This is apparently necessary. But let's be honest with ourselves, not all of those deaths were accidental. There. I said it. Somebody had to.

Hopefully design can be retrofitted for older vehicles

No. It’s stupid. If kid is sleeping it won’t detect motion. WAKE UP.

that fact that parents need a 'reminder' they put their child in the back seat is a pathetic showing of the start of parenting today. if you need to be reminded you have a child in your car, you should not have the child in the first place.

But we can’t do shit when guns kill people.
