Rommel Peneyra, head of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Carmona, said a damaged brake of a dump truck caused the multiple vehicular collision involving two buses, one dump truck, one car and one closed van, which happened a little before 6 a.m.
Peneyra said the truck's driver and help sustained minor injuries and they were brought to the Pagamutang Bayan ng Carmona for treatment.Netizen Jake Javier even captured on his cellphone a video of one vehicle on fire that triggered an explosion, and posted it on his Facebook account. In Baguio City, one person died and five others were injured in a crash involving 16 vehicles late Thursday. The dead victim was identified as Jeffrey Bulan Manao, 38. He was pronounced dead on arrival, authorities said. Police said a broken brake pedal 10-wheeler delivery truck, which was said to be driven by Aldrin Prieto, 29, caused the incident. Prieto was with his two helpers, Jobert Mopia Rusgal, 33, and Alfie Estember Gimbalista, 36, who were both hurt.
