BUTTERWORTH: A total of 126 summonses were issued by the Penang Road Transport Department to drivers of commercial vehicles for various offences in an operation dubbed Ops Khas Lebih Muatan on Thursday .
The operation, conducted between midnight and 7am, focused mainly on highways, industrial areas, and major roads. In a statement on Friday , JPJ said the operation also targeted overloaded commercial vehicles, as well as non-compliance with the Road Transport Act 1987 and the Land Public Transport Act 2010."Among the offences were driving without a Goods Vehicle Driving Licence , excessively worn tyres, installing strobe lights without permission, excessive tinting and illegal vehicle modification,” the statement read.
