There’s actually a motor show happening this week—the LTO Motor Show to commemorate the 112th founding anniversary of the Land Transportation Office. Mostly on display at the event are electric vehicles and modern public utility PUVs, given that the government is currently pushing forward its PUV Modernization Program .

One of the vehicles at the show is the Isuzu NLR77, the Japanese carmaker’s take on a Class 2 modern PUV. It’s based on the same platform as the N-Series light truck, but equipped for mass-transport duties.Explainer: How to register e-bikes and other light electric vehicles with the LTO The electrically operated folding-type door leads into a cabin with bench-type seating running along the length of each side. The vehicle also meets the standards for Class 2 PUVs thanks to features like GPS, CCTV, on-board monitors, digital signboards, and an automated fare collection system.“IPC continues to be a committed partner in the PUV Modernization Program initiated in 2017,” said Toshihiko Kojima, vice president for sales at Isuzu Philippines.
