The exhibition, which runs from 1 May for a month, features 30 different vehicles from 12 countries including a German Leopard tank, a Swedish CV90 combat vehicle and a French AMX-10 mini tank and is described as a celebration of Russia’s success “against Ukrainian militants and their Western supporters”.
A German-made Marder vehicle is said to have been to be included, described as being in “almost perfect condition” apart from a few slight dents from impact, according to one military channel.is also reported to be joining the collection from Ukraine. US military officials have indicated that these are being temporarily withdrawn from use in Ukraine following a number of losses, although Kyiv has disputed this claim.
Designed as part of the nation’s Second Word War commemorations, it opens ahead of the 9 May Victory Day Parade in Moscow’s Red Square overseen by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which celebrates Russia’s role in the defeat of the Nazis.
