The pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also know as petrol has hit N780 per liter in Makurdi the Benue state capital as most filling stations in the town remained under lock without product to dispense.

From findings, the few that had product to sell like the NNPC Mega Station on New Otukpo Road which was dispensing at N617 per liter had long queues of cars, commercial buses and motorcycles waiting patiently to purchase.

At the time of this report most of the major and independent markerters in the town had no product to sell. A commercial bus driver, who identified himself as Jonathan Ogor lamented the non availability of the product in the last few days saying it had already crippled his business. According to him, “this government is subjecting Nigerians to untold hardship. They removed fuel subsidy that has worsened poverty in our lives and we cannot see the product to buy. In countries where people in authority or positions are held accountable you would have heard that some persons have been sacked from their positions for this scarcity that is subjecting Nigerians to untold hardship.
