Shocked witnesses told of a tactical stop involving multiple police vehicles, including a PIT (Proactive Intercept Team).

A police officer has sustained 'serious' injuries after being dragged underneath a car during a tactical stop on a street.Horror video footage captured the moment the officer approaches a black Seat Ibiza which failed to stop and begins driving backwards as the officer, who is holding onto an open door, is then forced onto the ground as the vehicle picks up speed.

The major incident took place in Selby Road in Leeds. Traffic delays have been reported following the incident. Top news stories today West Yorkshire Police said in a statement: "Shortly after 1.15pm today, a Seat Ibiza failed to stop for a roads policing unit and was pursued before being brought to a stop a few minutes later on Selby Road, Leeds.

Markings left on a patch of grass separating the two busy roads show that the vehicle crossed the central reservation before colliding with a wall and being blocked in by police vehicles.
