Emergency services were at the scene of a serious flat fire on a residential street in a town on the Nottinghamshire - Derbyshire border. A number of police cars, ambulances, and an air ambulance were at the scene on Ebenezer Street, where a cordon was also in place last night .
Ilkeston Councillor James Dawson said: "The emergency services are currently dealing with a house fire, off Ebenezer Street. I’ve just had an update from the local police inspector, the occupants of the house are receiving the medical treatment that they need and there are no fatalities. "The road closure on Ebenezer Street will remain in place, until the emergency services have finished so please find an alternative route." Two people have been taken toFirefighters from Ilkeston, Heanor & Nottinghamshire’s Stockhill were called to attend at 17.43 hrs. On arrival crews faced a well developed fire in a ground floor living room.
One male & one female casualty who had both self-evacuated from the flat were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Firefighters evacuated surrounding properties, these residents have now returned. A joint investigation withEmergency services have been dealing with a fire at a property in Hallam Court, Ilkeston.
