10 Canadian automotive sales surprises in 2022 — via drivingdotca

Pickup truck sales are up

Not for the first time, the presumed connection between rising fuel prices and falling pickup truck sales didn’t pan out. During a year in which fuel prices spiked to an all-time high, full-size pickup truck volume grew by 2 per cent. That’s a major accomplishment given the industry’s 9-per-cent sales decline. Of the new vehicles sold in Canada, 20 per cent were full-size pickups; 307,651 in total.
