AP sources: EPA car rule to push huge increase in EV sales

The Biden administration will propose new automobile pollution limits this week that would require at least 54% of new vehicles sold in the U.S. to be electric by 2030, ramping up quickly to as high as 67% by 2032. That's according to three people briefed on the plan.

Even the low end of the EPA’s 2030 range is 4 percentage points higher than the 2021 goal, which came after strong pressure from President Joe Biden. Transportation is the single largest source of carbon emissions in the U.S., but it is followed closely by electricity generation.the sweeping Inflation Reduction Act At present, many new EVs manufactured in North America are eligible for a $7,500 tax credit, while used EVs can get up to $4,000.

Electric cars can be an option but they have not been proved good for all types of travel. I dont think limits to regular automobiles is a good thing. I am tired of this legislation group coming in like a wrecking ball to destroy families and way of life.

So when the quota of gas cars is sold for the year you're gonna tell me I can't buy a new car? This is ridiculous. This is proof that the government has no idea how the private sector works.

Our car has to last us the rest of our driving career. It runs on gas and we don’t want an electric one.

So 54% of new vehicles will be imported from China? Biden sold the mineral rights to China when he was Vice president. Now by 2030 we’ll be importing all the raw battery materials from China. Joe Biden has sold out the United States completely

Government over reach into private markets. The government should step in to protect and help consumers, not hurt them by driving up cost of goods.

Wow. This guy is a king who rules by decree.

Enjoy the blood sweat and tears of the little children that had to mine the lithium and cobalt for those batteries. The Biden admin knows this but probably invested in these mining companies exploiting children.
