Then, while this was sitting in drafts, something funny happened. My uncle had told me for a few years that he was planning to buy an electric car the next time he bought a car, but that he was waiting for the big boys to get into the game. He wanted a solid electric car from a legacy automaker that he trusted. I had spent plenty of time talking about the benefits of Tesla and my Tesla Model 3, but I didn’t push it too hard, because, well, that’s just not cool.

Never mind the mainstream EV brands, Mercedes has been offering some insane EV lease deals. For $700 to $800/mo. with zero down payment for an EV with $100K+ MSRP, literally slowing down Tesla's S/X sales in the US.
Why a non-Tesla? Sounds racist.
The only other EV worth buying is the Bolt. All legacy autos are dumb cars compared to Tesla. Tesla are smart cars and just the best in value. You're insane to buy anything else except the Bolt ($16k after incentives).
