From the moment people started to get their hands on the C8 Corvette Z06, a single question has remained: What on Earth are they going to do with the ZR1? Thanks to the team over at CarSpyMedia on YouTube, we have a chance to see the track-focused supercar during some industry testing at the Nürburgring. One look at the ZR1 prototype found in this clip should make it clear that Chevrolet is taking its mid-engine platform up another notch. While the car appears to carry the same 3.
We wouldn’t be shocked to see a similar 285-section front and 335-section rear tire combo like the ones found on the Z06 with Z07 upgrades. The ZR1 looks familiar from the rear, albeit with funky noise-restricting exhaust tips found on this particular mule. Those are required in order to meet the Ring’s 130 dB noise limit, suggesting the supercar still brings the noise. That said, the clip also provides us with a bit of info about what sort of powertrain is tucked underneath all of that camo.
