pAutomakers delivered 18,671 vehicles that qualified for the federal program during the month, a monthly tally topped only by the 22,061 shipped in August, according to the latest data from Transport Canada./p

Despite concerns about electric-vehicle affordability and the end of the technology’s early-adopter stage, Canadians continued to snap up vehicles eligible for the Incentives Zero-Emission Vehicles program in near-record numbers in September.

Tesla, the runaway leader in the iZEV tally for 2023, ran up the score in September, shipping more than 9,000 eligible vehicles, nearly as many as all other automakers combined. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV rounded out the top three selling battery-electric vehicles with 852 eligible deliveries.
