“China's EVs, represented by Qin and Han series, have successfully realized the large-scale replacement of traditional fuel cars, and this trend is irreversible,” said Lu Tian, the head of sales for BYD's Dynasty models. The cars are named after former imperial dynasties. BYD accounted for 41% of EV sales in Brazil in the first three months of this year, though the overall number is still relatively low.

For foreign players aside from American EV maker Tesla, it has challenged them to accelerate the development of new electric car models to stay competitive in the world's largest auto market.
